What it means

A resource limit has to be a sensible number. --memory takes a size with a binary unit (k, m or g; 128m is 128 MiB) between 4 MiB and 1 TiB. --pids takes a count from 1 to 4194304. --cpus takes a number of CPUs with up to three decimals (0.5 is half of one) from 0.01 to 1024.

A zero, a number out of range, or text that is not a number is refused before anything starts.
